Choosing your plan

Where to find it

In the left menu, under Settings, click Plan. You can also get there from:

• the Choose a plan link in the free-trial bar at the top of your pages,
• the Choose a plan button on the "Your free trial has ended" page,
• the See plans link in a plan-limit message.

Only directors can open this page. It stays available even while your center is paused, so you can always choose a plan after a trial ends.

Reading your current status

At the top of the page, a summary line shows:

• your status, for example Trial or Active,
• during a trial, the date it Ends on (or the date it Ended on),
• once a plan is active, Current plan: followed by the plan name,
• on the right, how much you use: Children, Staff and Classrooms. When your plan has a limit, you see it as "used / limit", for example 18 / 25. The number turns orange when you have reached the limit.

How to choose a plan

1. If yearly plans are offered, use the Monthly / Yearly switch at the top to see the prices you want. Yearly prices come with 2 months free.
2. Compare the plan cards. Each card shows the price per month or per year, how many children, staff and classrooms it allows, and the features included. The card marked Recommended is highlighted.
3. Click Choose this plan on the plan you want.
4. A message confirms: "Request sent for" the plan name, and that the team will contact you shortly to activate it.

There is no online payment. Choosing a plan sends a request to the Hi Kiddo team, who contact you to confirm it and arrange payment. When they activate it, you receive an email saying your plan is active. Your data stays exactly as it is.

The plan you are already on shows a greyed-out Current plan button instead.

Your free trial

• The trial usually lasts 14 days from the day the Hi Kiddo team approves your sign-up; the team chooses its length when approving.
• While it runs, a bar at the top of your pages shows how many days are left. It turns orange in the last three days.
• Two days before the end, directors get a reminder email. Another email is sent when it ends.
• When the trial ends without an active plan, the center is paused: everyone sees a "Your free trial has ended" page until a plan is activated. Nothing is deleted. See Setup guide.

If the Hi Kiddo team suspends your subscription, the center is paused the same way: everyone sees the Access suspended page and the app refuses to sign in. Directors are asked to contact Hi Kiddo at [email protected]; your data is kept and access comes back as soon as the team reactivates the subscription.

Plan limits

Plans can limit three things:

• Children: active children in your center.
• Staff: active accounts with the Center Admin or Teacher role. Parents never count.
• Classrooms: active classrooms.

When you try to go over a limit, Hi Kiddo stops the action and shows an orange message at the top of the page, for example "Your Starter plan allows up to 25 children. Choose a bigger plan to add more." Directors also see a See plans link.

This check happens when you:

• add a child, or enroll a child from the waitlist (see Children and Waitlist and enrollment),
• create a staff account with the Center Admin or Teacher role (see Staff),
• create a classroom (see Classrooms).

The same limits apply when your team adds things from the mobile app.

During the free trial, the limits of the plan your trial is set up on apply.

Good to know

• Deactivated classrooms and deactivated staff accounts do not count against your plan, and removed children do not either. Freeing a spot this way lets you add someone new without changing plan.
• Prices are shown in the plan's currency, as set by Hi Kiddo.

Troubleshooting

I clicked "Choose this plan" but my plan didn't change. That's expected. Your request goes to the Hi Kiddo team, who activate the plan after contacting you. Your current status stays the same until then.

I see a limit message but I thought I had room. The count only includes active children, active classrooms and active director and teacher accounts. Check the numbers in the summary line at the top of the Plan page.

I can't find the Plan page. It is only shown to directors. Teachers and parents should ask their director.
